Successful Cases – sludge/mud removal
This case may look relatively simple, but in reality we spent a lot of time working with the customer to clarify and study the requirements.
The tender documents were in French, which meant we had to overcome a language barrier. However, that did not stop us—and the customer was also very considerate and helped provide an English translation.
The tender required sludge/mud removal, and there were two possible options: an amphibious excavator or an amphibious dredger.
At the beginning, we all had some misunderstandings about the specifications, so we customized an amphibious excavator (long-reach boom, balancing boom/rod, etc.). But when we got to the attachments, we realized that an amphibious excavator could not meet the actual requirements. We then switched to analyzing an amphibious dredger—and yes, that turned out to be exactly the solution the customer was asking for.
The key details were in the customized parameters. Based on our standard product, we needed to customize the overall dimensions/outline, adjust engine power and hydraulic specifications, and confirm a range of attachments to ensure they were suitable for different working conditions. Thanks to the customer’s cooperation and our experienced engineers, we submitted the solution on time.
Summary
When addressing customer requirements, we need to make bold assumptions and then verify them with careful analysis. There are many types of equipment available worldwide, and some tenders list only technical parameters without naming the equipment type—this requires solid experience and thorough, detail-oriented evaluation.
